This photograph of city lights was taken in 2000 (printed in 2019) during a windy evening cruise around Manhattan. The rockiness of the boat created a colourful variety of inverted ‘v’ patterns within the buildings and their surroundings. The motion effect provided more visual interest in the repetitive blurred shapes and colours than if the photograph of this recognizable location had been taken from a still place.
