I found a piece of sustainably-sourced spalted maple wood. To preserve the live edge I brought it indoors, poured blue-dyed epoxy on it to not see through it, and coated it in clear casting epoxy. Gaps were filled with pieces of the same board to give it character. The entire top was routered and sanded to 320 grit. I used Odie's Oil to condition the wood and Odie's Wood Butter to help accentuate the grains. Legs and base was also made from maple and finished with Odie's Oil and Wood Butter. Totally created from my imagination and no pattern was followed.
